This is a lovely gas hob. The hob is really aesthetically pleasing, with a high quality mirror chrome detail to the surround and cartridge section cover. The cover itself is raised in an upward direction to access the cartridge bay. the cover will stay in the upright position for easy access. I found the lever function for locating the cartridge into position to be much smoother than on other models, no loud clunk to engage. The hob is excellent, all raised 'fin points' are of equal height, allowing for use with larger pans. I had previously bought a Campingaz model, where the fin height was different on the left and right hand sides (that hob iron was fixed in position) -thus larger pots would not sit on that hob. Neither did the cartridge cover stay up which made locating the cartridge into position in the dark quite difficult by comparison. The hob iron on this model, is removed and turned over to fit into the hob when not in use. Note that this hob does not come with a plastic case, so if you are replacing another gas hob, try and keep the case - hopefully it will fit this hob. The hob is dispatched in a cardboard box. I am delighted with my purchase, the hob was dispatched very promptly, arrived in perfect condition and was sold at an excellent price.

These cheap n cheerful stoves are handy. The gas cylinders are available everywhere, camping shops, Halfords, Supermarkets, no awkward country specific adapters needed. Despite the small size of the cylinders, the gas works out much cheaper than the big CampingGas 907 etc. especially if bought in packs of 4 at ALDI et al. I thought the stove units were all the same, maybe even from the same factory - but they are not. The basic operation is the same, but there's a step up in quality with the Halfords, CampingGas/Colemans, and this one, compared to the supermarket versions. This Milestone is quite solid, a tad heavier than my ALDI Adventureridge, looks a bit different with the stainless steel (or more accurately chromed, I think) top, and has a much better windshield under the pot position. What I particularly like is the heating control. It feels quite solid, and once you have ignited the flame you can turn it right back down to a low simmer and it doesn't creep up, as the ALDi and my old Halfords one do. This has been a problem for years and the only partial solution for those was to jam a bit of card into the knob. The ALDI is headed for the dump as the flame control is dodgy, and the Halfords will go with the candles under the stairs for the next power outage, but the Milestone will be my "go to" cooker for the next sailing/camping trip.

I bought this after owning an almost identical model previously. The previous one came with a plastic carry box which is very useful for packing / camping. This one comes with no box/case which is a let down. Otherwise a great little stove.

A great improvement on the similar stoves because of the stainless steel finish and neatly fitting gas canister “door”. I’ve had a few of those stoves over the years and they have been terrific for my camping trips or for picnic days. However this stove is a cut above. (Just my personal opinion) Only downside is the lack of a case to store it in but I’ve used one from an old stove that had seen better days.
